Frequently Asked Questions

This is a long-form FAQ (hundreds of questions across 22 topics): general information, everyday basics, chats, messages, media, calls, groups, stories, profile, account, privacy, notifications, search, data, safety, business use, devices, tips, extra features, legal notes, and troubleshooting. Esender keeps evolving — if something here doesn’t match the latest app, check in-app settings and release notes after you update.

General

What is Esender?

Esender is a mobile messenger for everyday conversations: text chats, voice messages, photos and files, voice and video calls, groups, and stories. It is built to feel familiar and fast, so you can stay in touch with friends, family, and teams without a cluttered feed.

Who is Esender for?

Anyone who wants reliable messaging and calling on their phone. It works well for small groups, family threads, and casual communities — especially when you care about a clean chat experience and controls over privacy and notifications.

Is Esender free?

Yes. You can download and use Esender without paying for the core messaging, media, and calling features described on this site. Your mobile carrier or Wi‑Fi provider may still charge for data.

Which devices are supported?

Esender is built for iOS and Android. Install from the App Store or Google Play using the links on our download section. Minimum OS versions may change as we ship updates — the store listing always shows the current requirement.

How is Esender different from social feeds or SMS?

Esender is focused on conversations, not a public timeline. Compared to plain SMS, you get richer media, groups, voice notes, and calls in one place, with settings you can tune for privacy and notifications.

Is there a web or desktop version?

This website is for product information, FAQs, and download links. Chatting happens in the mobile app. If we add other clients later, we will announce them here and in the app.

How long has Esender been around?

Release timelines vary by product and region. Check the App Store or Google Play “What’s New” and our site for the latest milestones. This FAQ describes features in current public builds.

Who makes Esender?

Esender is developed and operated by the team behind the product. For press, partnerships, or legal notices, use the contact channels your organization publishes on this site or in the app.

Where is Esender based?

Corporate and operational details appear in legal pages (privacy policy, terms) when published. Support and infrastructure may span multiple regions to keep the service reliable.

How does Esender make money?

If we introduce optional paid features, subscriptions, or business offerings, we will describe them clearly in the app and on this site. Core personal messaging principles are communicated in our product announcements.

What is Esender’s approach to internet privacy?

We aim to give you meaningful controls: who can reach you, what others see about your activity, and how notifications behave. Details are implemented in privacy settings and in our privacy policy when available.

What about GDPR and data protection laws?

Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we work to support your rights (access, correction, deletion where applicable) as described in our privacy policy and any in-app data tools.

Do you process content takedown requests?

We may review reports of illegal or policy-violating content according to our terms and applicable law. Use in-app report flows or official legal contact paths when provided.

Do you process law enforcement or data requests?

We handle valid legal process as required by law and our policies. Specifics are typically outlined in a transparency report or legal FAQ if we publish one.

Will there be ads in my private chats?

We do not design Esender around interrupting private conversations with ads. If monetization models change, we will communicate them openly in product updates.

Is Esender open source?

Open-source status depends on the product line. Check our site and repositories if we publish client or SDK code. Server-side implementation may remain proprietary.

Which languages does the app support?

The app may follow your device language or offer an in-app language list. If a string is missing or wrong, feedback through the store or in-app helps us improve translations.

Does Esender support accessibility features?

We aim to support platform accessibility APIs (VoiceOver, TalkBack, larger text, contrast). Report specific barriers through feedback so we can prioritize fixes.

Esender basics

Who can I message?

You can usually message people in your contacts who use Esender, and others if you have started a chat or they accept a request — depending on your privacy settings.

Who can message me?

Your privacy settings may limit who can add you or send the first message. Review “Who can contact me” or similar options under Privacy in settings.

Does Esender send codes for other apps?

Esender only sends account-related codes for Esender itself. If you receive unexpected codes, do not share them; verify whether another service is misconfigured or if someone is probing your number.

How do I know who uses Esender?

With contacts permission, people who appear in your Esender list typically have accounts linked to numbers you have saved. You can also be invited by username or link if your build supports it.

How do I invite friends?

Share the app store link from our site or use any invite feature in the app. After they sign up, start a chat from search or contacts.

What do check marks or status icons mean?

They usually indicate send, delivery, and sometimes read state. Exact icons differ by platform version; see in-app legend or settings for read receipts.

Can I hide my last seen or online status?

If supported, you will find controls under Privacy — for example who can see when you were last active. Others may see approximate or no activity based on your choice.

Who can see me online?

Often tied to last-seen privacy: mutual contacts, everyone, or nobody. Some combinations hide your status from people you do not share yours with.

Can I delete my messages?

You can often delete for yourself always; delete for everyone may be time-limited. Open message actions to see current options.

Can others see when I am typing?

Many messengers show typing indicators in active chats. If we offer a toggle, it will be under privacy or chat settings.

Can I turn off read receipts?

If the app supports it, disabling read receipts may also hide others’ read status from you. Check the privacy screen for the exact trade-off.

Are there stickers and emoji?

Esender supports expressive messaging with emoji; stickers or packs may be available depending on version. Use the sticker panel in the composer if present.

Are message drafts saved?

Often yes — unsent text may persist when you leave a chat. Drafts are usually stored on the device or synced per your account policy.

Can I pin important chats?

If supported, long-press or use chat settings to pin conversations to the top of your inbox for quicker access.

What is archiving a chat?

Archiving hides a thread from the main inbox without deleting history. New messages may unarchive or bump it back depending on settings.

Can I mark a chat as unread?

Some versions let you mark unread as a reminder. Use the chat list actions menu.

Are there chat folders or categories?

Folder support depends on the release. If available, configure them in settings to separate work, family, or muted lists.

Getting started

How do I download Esender?

Open Get Esender on your phone on this site and tap the App Store or Google Play button. You can also search “Esender” directly in your store.

How do I sign up or log in?

Follow the on-screen steps in the app. You will typically verify your phone number so people who already know you can find you and so we can protect your account. Keep your number current if you change devices.

How do contacts work?

Esender can use your device contacts (with your permission) to help you start chats with people who also use the app. Exact behavior depends on your OS permissions and in-app settings.

How do I invite friends?

Share your preferred invite method from the app if available (for example a link or store page), or send them to this site’s download section. Once they install and sign up, you can start a chat from your contact list or search.

How do I update the app?

Use the App Store or Google Play Updates tab, or enable automatic updates. New versions often include fixes, security improvements, and features — staying current is recommended.

How do I move Esender to a new phone?

Install Esender on the new device and sign in with the same account method (usually your phone number). Follow migration prompts if we offer chat backup or transfer.

Can I use one account on two phones?

Policy varies. Some messengers allow one active mobile session; others allow multiple. Check account or devices settings after logging in.

I forgot my app lock PIN.

Use the recovery path shown on the lock screen, which may require signing in again. If you use two-step verification, keep backup codes safe.

Do I need an Apple or Google account to install?

You need whichever account your device’s store requires. Esender itself may only need your phone number after install.

Is Esender available in my country?

Check the App Store or Google Play in your region. If the app is not listed, it may be a rollout or policy limitation — watch this site for updates.

Is there a beta program?

If we offer TestFlight or Play beta tracks, we will link them from this site or in-app announcements. Betas can be less stable than production.

Which permissions does Esender ask for?

Common ones: notifications, contacts (optional), microphone and camera for calls and media, photos for attachments. You can grant or deny per OS rules and adjust later in system settings.

Chats & inbox

How do I start a new chat?

Tap compose or the new message button, then pick a contact or enter a search. Some flows support QR or username entry.

How do I delete a chat?

Use delete or clear from the chat list or chat settings. Deleting may remove history locally or for everyone depending on the option you choose.

What is the difference between clear history and delete chat?

Clear history often removes messages but keeps the thread; delete chat may remove the conversation from your list entirely.

Mute vs archive — what is the difference?

Mute silences notifications but leaves the chat in your list. Archive hides it from the main inbox; you may still receive messages depending on settings.

Why is my unread count wrong?

Try marking chats read, pull to refresh, or restart the app. Sync delays can briefly show stale counts.

Is my chat history backed up?

Backup behavior depends on product settings and OS tools (e.g. device backup). If we offer cloud backup, it will be described in settings with clear limits.

Can I export my chats?

If export is offered, it is usually under settings or chat details. Otherwise, manual copy or screenshots may be the only option.

Is there a spam or requests folder?

Some builds separate unknown senders into requests. Approve or block from there to keep your main inbox clean.

Can I change chat wallpaper or theme?

Appearance options may include wallpaper, dark mode following system, or accent colors. Check Display or Appearance in settings.

Can I make text larger?

Use system display size and accessibility settings; Esender typically respects OS text scaling.

Messages

How do I send a message?

Open a chat, type in the composer, and send. You can start new chats from your inbox or contact list depending on how the app is organized on your build.

Can I edit or delete messages?

Many messengers allow deleting messages for yourself or for everyone; edit support varies. Check the message actions (long press or menu) in your version of Esender — options are shown there when supported.

What do delivery or read indicators mean?

Icons or labels near a message usually mean it left your device, was delivered to the server or recipient, and sometimes that it was read. Wording and symbols can differ by platform; use in-app help or settings if you want to adjust read receipts or related privacy options.

Can I reply to or quote a specific message?

Yes, in supported builds you can reply in-thread so context stays clear in busy chats. Use the action on the message bubble (for example reply or quote) as offered in the app.

Can I forward messages?

If your version includes forwarding, you will find it in the message actions menu. Forward thoughtfully — recipients may see content out of its original context.

How do I copy message text?

Long-press the message and choose copy, or select text in the bubble if the OS allows text selection.

Can I select multiple messages?

Often yes — enter selection mode from the message menu to delete, forward, or share in bulk where supported.

Can I send without notifying the other person?

If a silent or schedule-send option exists, it will be in the send menu. Otherwise, muting on their side controls their alerts.

Scheduled messages?

Availability varies by version. Check the composer attachment or long-press send for schedule options.

Are there message effects or animations?

Feature-dependent. If present, they appear from the message composer extras without changing message content for unsupported clients.

Is there a message length limit?

Very long text may be split or truncated per server limits. For huge content, attach a file instead.

How long can I delete for everyone?

Time windows are app-specific and may shrink over time. Try delete immediately if you sent something by mistake.

Can I pin a message in a chat?

Group or channel pins are common; private chats may support them too. Look in chat info or message actions.

Can I save or star messages?

Saved messages or starred items may live in a dedicated list in settings or profile for quick reference.

How do I search inside a chat?

Open chat details or tap search in the chat header to jump to matches in that thread.

Can messages be translated?

If translation is built in, select text or use the message menu. Otherwise use your OS translate feature.

Media & files

How do I send photos and videos?

Use the attachment or media button in the chat composer, or share from your gallery into Esender. You may be able to send multiple items at once depending on your OS and app version.

How do voice messages work?

Hold or tap the microphone control to record, then release or confirm to send. Playback is usually inline in the thread. If recording fails, check microphone permission in system settings.

What kinds of files can I send?

Common documents, archives, and media types are supported where the platform allows. Maximum size limits depend on server and app policy; if a file is too large, try compressing it or using a dedicated file-sharing flow if your team provides one.

Will Esender fill up my phone storage?

Media can use space when cached locally. Most apps let you clear cache or manage downloads in settings. If you are low on storage, review Esender’s storage or data options after updating.

Are photos compressed?

Images may be compressed for speed; some flows offer HD or original quality when supported.

Send as file vs photo?

Choosing document or file often preserves quality and metadata better than the quick photo picker path.

How long can videos be?

Limits depend on encoding, size cap, and server policy. Trim in your gallery before sending very long clips.

Can I send GIFs?

If a GIF search or keyboard integration exists, use it from the attachment panel; otherwise send short MP4 or use system GIF keyboard.

Do Live Photos work?

iOS may send Live Photos as still or short video depending on the share sheet and app handling.

HEIC / HEIF photos?

Modern iPhones use HEIC; Esender or the OS may transcode to JPEG for compatibility.

Auto-download media?

Data saver settings can limit auto-download on cellular. Configure per chat type in data and storage settings.

Viewing media full screen?

Tap photos or videos in the thread to open the viewer; pinch to zoom where supported.

Calls

Does Esender support voice and video calls?

Yes. Esender is designed for both voice and video calls when the feature is enabled for your account and the other person accepts. Quality depends on your connection and device.

What do I need for a stable call?

A reasonable Wi‑Fi or mobile data connection, permission for microphone and camera (for video), and up-to-date app and OS versions. If calls drop, try switching networks or restarting the app.

Who can call me?

That depends on your privacy settings and how your account is set up. Review call-related options under privacy or security in the app to restrict unknown callers if supported.

Group voice or video calls?

If supported, start a call from a group or add participants during a call. Participant limits depend on infrastructure and version.

Can I record calls?

Recording may be restricted by law or app policy. Use OS-level recording only where legal and with consent of participants.

Bluetooth and speakerphone?

Audio routes follow the system phone UI during calls. Select device in the in-call controls.

What if I get a phone call during an Esender call?

The cellular call may pause or drop the VoIP session depending on OS behavior. Resume Esender after you finish.

What does the other person see when I call?

They typically see your profile name and photo as configured in Esender, not your raw number if hidden by privacy.

Missed call notifications?

You should get a missed call entry in the chat or calls tab. If not, check notification permissions.

Voice-only in a video call?

Turn off camera in-call to stay on audio without sending video.

Groups & communities

How do I create a group?

Use New group or equivalent from the app’s compose or menu flow, pick participants, set a name and photo if you like, and create. Exact steps follow the UI on your version.

How do I add people to a group?

Open the group info or member list and use Add members or share an invite if your build supports it. Only admins may add people in some groups.

What can admins do?

Admins typically manage membership, group info, and sometimes permissions like who can edit details or send messages. Capabilities vary by group type and app version.

How do I leave a group?

Open the group’s info screen and choose leave or exit. You may stop receiving messages from that group afterward; you can often be re-added by a member unless settings prevent it.

How many people can be in a group?

Member limits are set per product version. Very large groups may need slower sync or admin tools — check release notes.

Can only admins send messages?

Yes, in restricted groups admins can mute all members or allow only admins to post — similar to announcement mode.

How do I remove someone from a group?

Admins can remove members from the member list. Removed users cannot send until re-added.

Can I transfer ownership?

If supported, promote another admin to owner or primary admin before you leave critical groups.

Group description and rules?

Edit description in group info so new members see guidelines. Pin a rules message if pins are available.

Mention everyone in a group?

@all or @everyone may be limited to admins to prevent spam. Use @username for individuals.

Shared media in groups?

Open group info to browse photos, links, and files shared in the thread without scrolling the whole history.

Can I rejoin after leaving?

You may need a new invite or an admin to add you again unless the group is public.

Stories

What are Stories in Esender?

Stories are short-lived updates — often photos or video — that appear in a dedicated stories area for people you are connected with, depending on audience settings. They complement chat without flooding a thread.

Who can see my story?

Audience rules are controlled in the app (for example contacts only or selected people). Check story privacy settings before posting if you are unsure.

How long do stories last?

Stories are temporary by design; visibility ends after the app-defined period (often 24 hours) unless we state otherwise in release notes. Old stories are not meant to stay on your profile like permanent posts.

Can people reply to my story?

Replies may open a private chat with that person. You can disable replies in story settings if available.

Tagging people in stories?

If mentions are supported, tagged users may get a notification and may be able to reshare depending on privacy.

Highlights or saved stories?

Some products let you pin highlights to your profile; availability depends on version.

Who viewed my story?

Viewers may be listed for your own stories. Exact detail level can vary by privacy and version.

Delete a story early?

Open your active story and use delete to remove it before expiry.

Music or stickers on stories?

Creative tools depend on licensing and version. Use on-device editing if in-app stickers are limited.

Profile & usernames

How do I change my profile name or photo?

Open profile or settings in the app and edit your name, photo, or bio fields that are available. Changes usually sync to how others see you in chats and lists.

What is a username?

A username lets people find you without your phone number if the feature exists. Usernames are often unique and changeable within rules.

My username is taken.

Try variants with numbers or words. Impersonation of brands or public figures may violate policy.

Profile QR code?

If offered, others can scan your QR to start a chat. Share QR only with people you trust.

How long can my bio be?

Character limits are enforced in the editor. Keep bios concise and avoid sensitive personal data.

Who sees my profile photo?

Set visibility under Privacy — everyone, contacts, nobody, or exceptions as available.

About or status line?

Short text may appear under your name. Update from profile edit; respect community guidelines.

Your account

I have a new phone number. What should I do?

Update your number in account settings if the app supports migration, or follow the sign-in flow with the new number and any recovery options you set up. Doing this promptly reduces the chance of losing access or duplicate accounts.

How do I log out?

Use the sign out or log out option in settings. On a shared device, log out when you are done so others do not see your messages.

How do I delete my account?

If account deletion is offered, it will be under settings or privacy — often with a confirmation step. Deletion may be irreversible and affect your data on the service; read any on-screen explanation carefully before confirming.

What is inactive account removal?

Some services delete dormant accounts after a long period. Check account settings for auto-deletion or inactivity policy.

My phone was stolen.

Sign in on another device if possible and log out other sessions. Contact your carrier to block the SIM; enable two-step verification for future protection.

How often can I change my name?

Rate limits may prevent abuse. If you hit a limit, wait and try again.

Two numbers one account?

Usually one primary number per account. You may need separate accounts for two numbers.

Where am I logged in?

Active sessions may be listed under devices or security. Terminate unfamiliar sessions immediately.

Privacy & security

Where are privacy settings?

Look for Privacy or Privacy & security in the app settings. There you can often control last seen, profile photo visibility, who can add you to groups, and more, depending on your build.

How do I block someone?

Open the chat or profile, use block or report options as provided. Blocked users typically cannot call or message you; you can unblock later from a blocked list in settings if available.

How does Esender protect my messages?

We use industry-standard practices to protect data in transit and at rest as appropriate for our architecture. Specifics (such as transport security and server policies) may be described in our privacy policy when published. For sensitive topics, follow guidance from your organization if you use Esender for work.

Is two-step verification available?

If the app offers an extra PIN or second factor for sign-in, enabling it reduces the risk of account takeover if your phone number is targeted. Check security settings for the latest options.

How do I stay safe from scams?

Never share verification codes or passwords. Esender staff will not ask for your password in chat. Be wary of links from unknown contacts and verify requests for money or personal data out-of-band.

Screenshot notifications?

Some modes (e.g. ephemeral or private views) may warn on screenshots. Ordinary chats may not notify.

Who sees my phone number?

Privacy settings may limit number visibility to contacts, mutual contacts, or nobody. Groups can expose your number to members depending on rules.

Can I restrict forwarding?

If supported, disable forwarding for sensitive chats so messages cannot be easily reshared.

Who can add me to groups?

Choose everyone, contacts, or nobody with exceptions. This reduces spam group adds.

Live location sharing?

If available, share duration-limited location in a chat. Stop sharing early from the live location UI.

Turn off contact sync?

Revoke contacts permission in system settings and disable any in-app upload toggle. Already-synced data may take time to clear per policy.

Can I download my data?

GDPR-style exports may be available from privacy settings or a web portal when we publish the process.

Is Esender for children?

Age requirements follow store rules and local law. Parents should supervise minors’ use and device permissions.

Is every chat end-to-end encrypted?

Architecture varies by feature (cloud history vs special modes). Read our security documentation for accurate terms per chat type.

Notifications

Can I mute a chat or group?

Yes — use mute from the chat or group info screen. You can often choose duration (for example 8 hours or until you turn it back on).

How do I change notification sounds or previews?

Open Esender notification settings and system notification settings for the app. You can usually disable message previews on the lock screen, change sounds, or disable badges per your OS.

I am not getting notifications. What should I check?

Confirm notifications are allowed for Esender in iOS Settings or Android App info, disable Do Not Disturb overrides if needed, and ensure background refresh / data saver is not blocking the app. Reinstall only as a last step after backing up anything important.

Do mentions notify even if chat is muted?

Some apps break mute for @mentions or keywords. Check per-chat notification overrides.

Scheduled quiet hours?

Use OS Focus modes or Do Not Disturb schedules; pair with Esender’s mute if you need app-level rules.

Unread badge on the icon?

Controlled by OS notification settings. Disable badges if the count causes anxiety — you can still open the app to read.

Sounds inside the app while open?

In-app sound toggles may be separate from push notifications. Look in notification or chat settings.

Call notifications vs message notifications?

Calls often use a higher-priority channel on Android and Critical Alerts rules on iOS where allowed.

Data & storage

Using Esender on cellular data?

Voice and video use more data than text. Use data saver and disable auto-download on mobile to control usage.

Wi‑Fi only mode?

Some apps offer restrict background data; on Android you can also disable cellular data for Esender in system settings.

Clear cache safely?

Clearing cache removes temporary files; it should not delete your account. Clearing storage/data may log you out — read the dialog carefully.

Move chats between Android and iPhone?

Official migration tools vary. If we do not offer cross-platform transfer, assume chats may not move automatically.

Report & safety

How do I report a user?

Open profile or chat, choose report, pick a reason, and submit. False reports may violate terms.

Illegal content?

Use report and, where appropriate, contact local authorities with evidence. We handle valid legal notices per policy.

Someone is harassing me.

Block the user, mute notifications, collect evidence, and report. Consider legal help for serious threats.

Business & teams

Can we use Esender at work?

Many teams use consumer messengers informally. For regulated industries, confirm compliance with your IT and legal policies.

Is there an admin console?

If enterprise features exist, they will be documented separately. Consumer accounts are managed in-app.

Should our team write usage guidelines?

Yes — define what can be shared on Esender, retention expectations, and when to use email or ticketing instead.

Are chats valid business records?

Depends on jurisdiction and policy. Consult legal counsel; do not rely on this FAQ for compliance decisions.

Shared work phone and Esender?

Log out at end of shift on shared devices. Prefer dedicated work profiles where the OS supports them.

Devices & permissions

Does Esender work on tablets?

If listed for iPad or Android tablets in the store, you can install the same app. Layout may mirror the phone UI.

Low-RAM or Android Go devices?

Performance depends on hardware. Close other apps, reduce auto-download, and keep Esender updated.

Android battery optimization killing Esender?

Disable battery restrictions for Esender if notifications or calls are delayed. Path varies by manufacturer (Samsung, Xiaomi, etc.).

iOS Background App Refresh?

Enable it for Esender if messages arrive late while the app is backgrounded.

Split-screen or multitasking?

Esender may run alongside other apps per OS multitasking rules. Some features may pause when not focused.

Picture-in-picture during video calls?

If supported, you can minimize the call to a floating window while using other apps.

Paste from clipboard?

The app reads clipboard when you paste. Avoid pasting secrets into group chats.

Share to Esender from other apps?

Use the system share sheet to send links, photos, or files into a chat without saving them elsewhere first.

Make Esender the default for links?

Some links may open in Esender if we register URL schemes or App Links; otherwise they open in browser.

Apple Watch or Wear OS?

Companion features depend on whether we ship a watch app. Check the store and release notes.

CarPlay or Android Auto?

Read messages hands-free only when driving laws allow. Availability depends on platform integration.

Using Esender in airplane mode?

Wi‑Fi can stay on in airplane mode on many planes; cellular messaging will not work until you disable airplane mode or use Wi‑Fi.

Roaming charges for Esender?

Data, SMS for codes, and voice fallback may incur roaming fees. Use Wi‑Fi when traveling if possible.

eSIM and dual-SIM?

Select the line used for data; codes may arrive on the line tied to your Esender registration.

Screen reader tips?

Use VoiceOver or TalkBack labels in the chat list and message bubbles; report unlabeled controls to support.

Very large system fonts?

Some UI may truncate at extreme accessibility sizes; we aim to improve reflow over time.

Why does Esender ask for location?

Only if you use location sharing or nearby features. You can deny and still use core messaging.

Tips & tricks

How do I keep my inbox manageable?

Archive finished threads, mute noisy groups, and pin the few chats you open daily.

How do I verify an urgent request?

Call or message the person on a second channel you already trust before sending money or codes.

Traveling with Esender?

Download offline maps separately; Esender still needs connectivity for messages unless we add offline queues beyond normal send retry.

Reduce distraction without missing family?

Mute broad groups, allow notifications only from starred or priority contacts if the OS supports it.

Sending many vacation photos?

Send as album or zip on slow networks; consider Wi‑Fi for large batches.

Kids and Esender?

Use device parental controls plus in-app privacy settings. Talk about not chatting with strangers.

Work profile vs personal?

Android work profiles can isolate apps; install Esender only in the profile that matches its use.

Home screen shortcuts to a chat?

Long-press the app icon or use widgets if your launcher and version expose quick actions.

Voice assistants opening Esender?

Shortcuts may open a chat by name when configured; review assistant privacy settings.

Dark mode?

Follow system appearance or pick light/dark in app settings when available.

Turn off vibration?

Disable haptic feedback in Esender or system sound settings if vibrations bother you.

Reduce motion accessibility?

We aim to respect OS reduce-motion flags for animations.

Should I still back up photos?

Yes — keep a separate photo backup strategy; chat media may not replace a full gallery backup.

Password managers and Esender?

Use them for email and other accounts; never paste Esender login codes into untrusted forms.

More features

What is the message requests inbox?

People you have not chatted with before may land in requests until you accept or block.

Disappearing or timed messages?

If offered, timers apply per chat; screenshots may still be possible — do not rely on timers for legal guarantees.

Multiple devices with one account?

Roadmap-dependent. Today, assume mobile-first; watch announcements if we add desktop or tablet sync.

Polls in groups?

If polls exist, use them for lightweight decisions; results may be visible to all members.

Send a map pin?

Share current or searched location from the attachment menu where supported.

Share a contact card?

Send vCard or built-in contact share so recipients can save details quickly.

Turn off link previews?

Privacy settings may stop servers from fetching URL metadata when you paste links.

Animated stickers heavy on data?

They can be; use Wi‑Fi or disable auto-play in data saver if available.

Different tone per chat?

Some versions let you override the default notification sound for specific threads.

Export chat to PDF?

If not built-in, screenshot long threads or request data export when we provide it.

Composer shortcuts?

Frequently used attachments may surface as shortcuts above the keyboard.

Keeping up in busy groups?

Mute, use mentions, and rely on replies to follow sub-conversations.

Accounts claiming to be Esender support?

We will not DM you for passwords. Official channels are listed on this site or in-app only.

Clone or fake Esender apps?

Install only from official stores and verify the publisher name matches ours.

Troubleshooting

Messages will not send. What can I try?

Check internet connectivity, force-close and reopen the app, and confirm you are on the latest version. If one chat fails but others work, the issue may be on the other side or with that thread specifically.

I am not receiving my login code.

Verify signal/SMS capability, disable blocking filters, and request the code again after a short wait. If the app offers voice call delivery, try that option. Repeated failures may require support from your carrier or our team if contact is listed in the app.

Contacts are not showing up.

Grant contacts permission in system settings, refresh the contact list in-app if there is a sync action, and confirm those people use Esender with the number you have saved.

The app crashes or freezes.

Update Esender and your OS, restart the phone, and clear app cache on Android if needed (without clearing data unless you understand the consequences). If a specific action always crashes, note the steps and report through feedback or support channels when available.

I still need help.

Use in-app help, support email, or contact options your team publishes. This FAQ is general; your organization may have internal runbooks for Esender at work.

Chats load slowly.

Poor network, large media history, or low storage can slow sync. Free space, switch to Wi‑Fi, and restart the app.

I cannot hear calls.
